At Paisley’s Place, sanctuary life means freedom, companionship, and choice. The animals are not confined to stalls—they are free to roam, graze, and live in ways that feel natural to them. Here, they are able to form deep friendships and lifelong bonds with their herd.

They never have to worry about being separated from their equine family. Their only “job” is to heal, to feel safe, and to enjoy each day to the fullest. Everything we do is centered around their comfort, their happiness, and their well-being.

At Paisley’s Place, our goal is to help every equine feel as comfortable, healthy, and cared for as possible. Many of the animals who come to us have endured years of hard labor, neglect, or abuse, and as a result, they often require ongoing pain management and daily supplements for the rest of their lives.

We are committed to meeting those needs—providing consistent veterinary care, proper nutrition, and a peaceful environment where they can heal, both physically and emotionally. While we can’t erase their past, we can ensure their future is filled with comfort, dignity, and compassion.

At Paisley’s Place, we rescue equines who are at risk of being shipped to slaughter—most often older, disabled working horses and mules who have spent their lives serving others. Here, they are given the chance to retire with dignity, spending their days relaxing in the sun, grazing, and finally experiencing peace and care.

We also take in younger equines with disabilities or behavioral challenges—animals who are often overlooked or deemed “unadoptable.” At Paisley’s Place, they are accepted as they are and provided with a safe, lifelong home.

Our mission is simple: to offer every animal who comes through our gates a life defined not by their past hardships, but by comfort, compassion, and respect.
